Bobby Kotick
CO-FOUNDER AND CO-CHAIRMAN of the
CALL OF DUTY ENDOWMENT

Bobby Kotick is the Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of the Call of Duty Endowment. During a conversation with the former VA Secretary, Jim Nicholson, Mr. Kotick discovered nearly one-third of veterans returning to civilian life couldn’t find jobs. In 2009, shortly after learning this information, he founded the Call of Duty Endowment to help veterans secure high-quality careers after completing their service.

At the time he started the Call of Duty Endowment, Bobby Kotick was the CEO of Activision Blizzard, the publishing company of the Call of Duty video game franchise. The branding, resources, and popularity of that franchise was used as a catalyst to support the Endowment's important mission. The Endowment has used in-game events, promotions, and collaborations with the Call of Duty community to raise awareness and funds for veteran employment issues.

To better understand the challenges and struggles veterans face, Bobby Kotick recruited distinguished military leaders to help run the non-profit organization. In 2012, General James L. Jones was named as a Co-Founder and the Co-Chairman of the Call of Duty Endowment. In 2013, former Navy Captain Dan Goldenberg was selected to serve as the Executive Director of the Endowment.

Under Mr. Kotick’s leadership, the Call of Duty Endowment has steadily grown and is now recognized as one of the top non-profit organizations in the country. The Endowment has been the recipient of prestigious awards such as the PR News Social Impact Awards: Social Good Responsibility Campaign in 2023, the Guidestar Platinum Seal of Transparency from 2017 to 2023, and a Vetty Award from the Academy of the United States Veterans Foundation in 2019.

In addition to his work with the Call of Duty Endowment, Bobby Kotick led Activision Blizzard as the CEO for over 30 years. He grew Activision Blizzard to become the world’s most successful standalone interactive entertainment company.

Mr. Kotick also sits on several other philanthropic boards focused on supporting education and the arts initiatives. Additionally, he has supported numerous initiatives to advance public healthcare.

"We embark on this effort as a grateful nation. Business leaders have an opportunity to renew their commitment to the American spirit and to reverse an alarming trend of not recognizing the sacrifices made by the men and women of our military service."
