  1. Organizations should review the Endowment’s website and determine how they are best aligned with CODE’s mission, which can be found here.
  2. Complete the online grant form below.
  3. Your form will be considered by the advisory council that helps us make all such decisions.

YOUR ORGANIZATION’S ALIGNMENT WITH
C.O.D.E.’s SIX GRANT-MAKING PRIORITIES

1. REPUTATION

We are looking for (non-profit) organizations that have a reputation for excellence and with a track record of effective financial accountability. 

If your organization was to receive a C.O.D.E. grant, what percentage would be directed toward your core mission? Overhead expenses?

Has your organization received government funding (appropriations, earmarks, or partnerships with government)? If so, please outline what was received and how it was used.

What are the amounts of your top five private contributions in the last year?

2. MISSION

An organization’s program services must align with the core mission of C.O.D.E.  Please read the C.O.D.E.’s Mission Statement here

How does your organization’s mission align with C.O.D.E.’s ?

Do you provide education or skills training for veterans?

Do you have a mentor or networking program for veterans?

How do you connect veterans with employers?

Describe your “track record” in placing veterans into actual jobs.  How do you measure success?

3. 21ST CENTURY JOBS

Applicants must demonstrate success and efficiency in delivering job training or placement services veterans transitioning into 21 st century jobs.

What industry “sectors” do you target?

What kind of “21st Century jobs” have you been able to place veterans into?

4. NATIONAL

Preference will be given to programs that are national in scope or that serve veterans from multiple regions.

Is your program national in scope? If not, please elaborate.

If your program is located in just a few locations, or in just one location, is it equally accepting of veterans from across the nation?

5. POST 9/11

Preference will be given to programs that serve veterans of all branches of the Armed Forces, with a particular emphasis on veterans from the post 9/11 conflicts.

Are veterans of all branches of Armed Forces eligible to participate in your programs? If not, please elaborate.

How do you focus your efforts to assist our newest veterans: those coming out of the service having served in Iraq and Afghanistan?

6. PUBLIC AWARENESS

Applicants must have the standing and capacity to act as a credible partner to raise public awareness for the problem of veterans’ unemployment.
