Stars and Stripes reports that the American Logistics Association, a coalition of packaged food companies, is stepping up to answer the call to support our veterans and help them find employment. The coalition has promised to hire 25,000 veterans and military spouses over the next two years.

The coalition includes over 270 packaged good manufactures, including Coca-Cola and Tyson Foods. The Association’s President Pat Nixon said that “the new effort will focus on bringing those military families into the companies’ hiring pool through programs such as the Military Spouse Employment Partnership and the Chamber of Commerce’s Hiring Our Heroes initiative.”

The Military Spouse Employment Partnership provides job boards, resume writing and job search assistance for military spouses.  The organization counts many of the country’s largest employers such as Verizon, Microsoft, Starbucks, 3M, Dell, Wal-Mart and more as partners.  If you are a military spouse looking for a job visit their website to learn more.

The Chamber of Commerce’s Hiring Our Heroes initiative is an ongoing series of more than 100 job fairs with the goal of connecting 100,000 veterans and military spouses with employment opportunities.  Click here for more info.

The Call of Duty Endowment is proud that other organizations, businesses and institutions are striving to better serve our veterans by finding them suitable employment.
